The History of NDC

Northampton Deliverance Church has a name that aptly defines its mission – reaching out to the citizens of Northampton (a provincial town situated about an hour’s drive from North London) with the liberating message of the gospel. Its congregation gathers weekly at Vernon Terrace community centre on Stockley Street where Sunday services are characterised by heartfelt praise and worship sessions as well as lively expositions of the scriptures.

NDC was founded in the early 90s when a young Bedford based Christian man, named Andrew Spencer, saw a need for a bible based church in the neighbouring town of Northampton. It wasn't a fancy calling, Andrew simply saw a need and made himself available. With his Bishop’s permission, he started to go over to Northampton and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all and sundry. Soon he had 5 old ladies and an old gent in the congregation!

For 2 whole years there was no growth and then suddenly people began to come round from the Bedford church (because the Northampton meetings were more convenient for them) as well as from the surrounding areas. NDC soon moved into a school hall at Trinity Middle School and soon after there was a growth explosion.

In the late 90s the lively congregation moved from Trinity Middle School to the Guide Hall on St Katherine’s Street. The church is now based at Vernon Terrace Community Centre.
