Andrew and Lynne Exposed! (Part 1)
Northampton Deliverance Church has a name that aptly defines its
mission - reaching out to the citizens of Northampton (a provincial
town situated about an hour's drive from North London) with the
liberating message of the gospel.
Its congregation gathers weekly at Vernon Terrace community centre on Stockley Street where Sunday services are characterised by heartfelt praise and worship sessions as
well as lively expositions of the scriptures.
Recently NDC News had the privilege of interviewing Andrew and Lynne
Spencer, who founded the ministry in the early 90s. Whether you decide

Andrew and Lynne Spencer's Amazing Story!
In the Beginning:
Andrew - It's truly amazing how I ended up as a pastor. A couple
decades ago, I was the archetypal troubled youth - promiscuous,
addicted to hard drugs, obsessed with getting rich by any means
necessary and deeply sad behind my smile. I was very popular - in
actual fact I had lots of hangers-on but hardly any real friends! I
hated being on my own yet even in the midst of a noisy crowd, I felt
lonely, empty and distrustful of others.
At the age of 16 I went on a search for God after returning from a
trip to Barbados. I researched many of the religions and philosophies
of this world, spoke to Muslims, Hindus, Jehovah witnesses, Young
Conservatives, Young Socialites and so on, but I wasn't satisfied with
the answers these groups gave me.
Lynne - I was abandoned as a baby and grew up in foster care.
Back in the day, no one would have guessed that I would end up a
pastor's wife. I was quite promiscuous and troubled to say the least.
Rays of Light:
Andrew - Sometime in April 1984, I started to wake up early in
the morning and think about God. One day I said, 'God, if you are real,
prove it!' Not long afterwards I bumped into a close friend, Mark, who
invited me to church. I went along nonchalantly and ended up getting
baptised! It was an amazing experience, something words can't quite
describe. I got saved (that is, began a personal relationship with God
through His Son Jesus Christ) on the 6th of May 1984 and haven't looked
back ever since.
Lynne - I got saved on the 1st of December 1985. I met Andrew at
the church we both used to attend in Bedford (Mount Zion Ministries).
He seemed such a happy person full of the Holy Ghost; but other than
that I didn't pay too much attention to him.
However, I was seeking God's will in marriage at that time and one
day I heard God say, "It's Andrew." I pondered on it. Then God began to
show me visions. When a good friend of mine visited, we discussed the
possibility of sharing the revelation with Andrew.
So how does Andrew react when the ladies approach him? Is he flattered or shattered? How does the unusualromance blossom?
